From today, Thursday 1 June 2023, the Corinth Canal is again available for navigation, after 8 months of rehabilitation works as the first phase of the works is completed.

The Canal was closed in October 2022 for rehabilitation works following continuous rock slides in the waters that made it difficult for ships to pass through, in order to armor the Canal.

Vessel passage will be allowed until 30 September 2023, when it will be closed again for a few months, as vessel passage is very limited during that period, at which time the second phase of the project will begin.

In addition, as of June 1st, the new electronic services of the Canal will be available on the official website of the company, where the possibility of calculating transit fees, the possibility of Electronic Arrival Notification and finally the possibility of payment will be provided.

From 1 October, work will enter the final stage and it is estimated that in February 2024, the Corinth Canal will be back in normal operation.
